Inferred dark transits — unconfirmed

Ships that entered the Red Sea heading south and then disappeared for 4 days or more. The Red Sea has only two exits — Suez and Bab el-Mandeb — so these ships most likely passed Bab el-Mandeb with their AIS switched off. They are NOT included in the confirmed crossing numbers. Every upload automatically checks competitor container ships with DataDocked: a ship found beyond the strait moves up to the crossings list (marked dark ✓); a ship found back in the Red Sea is removed. Ships that appear inside the Red Sea from nowhere are checked the same way: their last port call shows whether they came through Suez (no crossing) or from the East — the latter proves a northbound dark transit and is confirmed immediately, which is why northbound ships never wait in this list. Confidence: high = strong evidence · medium = likely · low = uncertain.

Saudi-origin southbound transits — observed port calls

Southbound BAM transits in the selected window whose track shows a call at a Saudi Red Sea port (Jeddah, King Abdullah/KAEC, Yanbu, Rabigh, Jizan, Duba) within 21 days before crossing; only STOPPED positions (≤1 kt) within 15 km qualify as a call. Port of origin is inferred from position proximity — the feed carries no last-port field. Vessels that went AIS-dark before the strait leave no port-call positions, so this is a floor, not a complete list.
